No, supplements like appetite suppresants, can harm the baby.
You might try doing a fruit smoothie, with soy protien or powdered fiber added to it. That way, it will take longer to drink it, but you'll be getting the protein and fiber you need to stay full. Also, keep tons of fresh veggies around. When you get hungry, you can snack on them. This also helps when you don't want to eat because you can go in & start cutting up carrots , snack on a few & then the craving goes away. Homemade oatmeal cookies help too (that fiber again).

You do not want to take an appetite supplement while you are pregnant. Your body is asking for what it needs to have a healthy pregnancy and sometimes we just don't listen to exactly what it is saying. If you can't get full, you are probably eating the wrong foods, and I don't mean junk food etc. I just mean that maybe you have a craving for sugar, but what your body really needs is protein. Always to to eat something healthy, low in sugar and high in protein 1st (even a glass of Ovaltine and or protein bar) then if you still want the other stuff an hour later have it.
The second most important thing you can do is exercise!! Not only does it curb your appetite, but it will also keep your weight in check, make your delivery easier and help you to get back to your prepregnancy shape (or better) sooner! Good Luck in the future!!

Well to tell you the truth hunn you can't take anything while you are preg if you ate alot for your son thenyour next should not be that bad, but if you think gaining 55 pounds for your son well I was 110 when I found out that I was preg for my son and at the end of my turm I weighed 185. I can tell you right now that no doctor is going to let you take anything for that. But I will tell you the same thing that I told my sister in law every pregnicy is different.

No, I don't think taking supplements to control your appetite while PG is a good idea. Talk to your prenatal caregiver to be sure, but I'm betting it's a big no-no. You already know that your body needs the food to grow a healthy baby. What you can do, however, is to try to be smart about what you eat. Keep a food diary for a while so that you can see how much and what you are eating. Make sure you are covering all food groups. Make sure you are making healthy choices. And stay active throughout your pregnancy. Walking, swimming and yoga are good exercise for pregnant women. Again, talk to your doctor about exercising, but for a normal healthy pregnancy, those are usually considered safe activities.

I agree that you need to drink lots of water to help, but also just change the things you snack on to be healthier options. You should probably avoid things that work to change your metabolism when your body is going through changes without it. I really don't think that stuff is designed for people who are supposed to be gaining weight, and surely it hasn't been tested on pregnant women.
If you never lost all 55 lbs, then you probably won't gain as much because you won't need to gain as much. If you did lose the weight, then try not to worry. Give your body what it's asking for during the pregnancy, and relax, knowing that you will bounce back.

I cannot believe that you've already had a child and are asking a question such as this. NO YOU CANNOT TAKE DIET PILLS. Eat right, exercise and you will NOT gain a ton of weight. Stay of the Mc Donalds drive thru. Walk every night for 30 min. Eat carrots instead of cookies and chocolate.
Despite what some may think, it IS possible to fill yourself up with HEALTHY FOOD. You don't HAVE to gorge on crap.

No, there are NO suppliments that are safe during pregnancy... but here are a few tips to help your hunger.
Eat 4 small meals a day, every four hours, and don't eat 4 hours before bed. Make sure you have at least 3 oz of protien at every meal and don't eat carboydrates without eating protien.
Drink about 68 oz of water per day,
and drink minimal caffiene sometimes caffinated drinks stimulate your appetite.

First of all I don't understand why you would want to do that. Your body saying you are hungry is a good sign if you weren't hungry then I would start to worry. My suggestion would be not to take anything like that because all of what you eat the baby takes alot of it. I had the same problem with both my prenancies. If you are worried about gaining weight as i was exercise. Any further questions you can get ahold of me at winnie_the_pooh_69692004@yahoo.ca

Sorry but your not supposed to take anything like that when pregnant. I know how you feel I gained 50 with my son. But the good news is I'm 33 weeks with this one and I've only gained 25 with this one. So may your next one won't be so bad. Good Luck.

no.
just eat healthier.
I gained about the same amount with my first - but gained nothing with my 2nd and 3rd (was puking my guts up every day)
and gained the normal amount with my 4th.
So just cause you gained that much with first - doesn't mean you will with the next.
