The teak wood in my boat has faded. Are there any home remedies to clean the mold & mildew?
Also, any ideas on how to protect the teak wood?

A light sanding & then teak oil. My husband has worked on traditional wooden sailing boats in Turkey for the last 14 years & that's what they always used. Good luck.

Teak can be cleaned with teak oil. It will clean it and turn it back to teak color. I wipe down the inside teak twice a year, and mildew is removed. Outside I have used teak oil to restore weathered teak. If teak oil is used, you can not put a finish over it.

Brightwork, the outside wood, can be sanded clean and finished with Sitkins Cetol or varnished. Both of these take several coats.
