bionicles, they are a great building toy with not too many pieces, very popular with 7 yr old boys--the Inika series is the latest and there are accompanying comic books and chapter books as well as related games on the lego.com web site.

Nintendo DS Lite and if you want educational fun stuff you can get him Big Brain Academy (it's for the DS) He'll love it I sweare.

He also might like a magna doodle.

You can get him a stuffed animal, lap desk, handheld video game, puzzle or coloring book. I know kids like these toys.

puzzels of any sort are good, I would also suggest childrens books and if you have time you can read with him or to him im sure he would like that.
