A lot of his teachings have been taught at many schools in mondern China, right? But aren't there other positive things? I mean, Confucius was a very important man at that time, so he must have done a lot of important things. Are the things being taught effective?

Confucianism is pretty much Chinese culture. It teaches respect and propriety, which are good things to have in any case. Some of the tenets are a bit outdated--for example, women always placed under men on the social hierarchy--which are ideas that are indeed changing, but in very specific cultural ways.

And yes, Confucianism is pretty much the curriculum of Chinese school.
