I've noticed that when i sell something on ebay and I include a buy it now price, once a bid is place the buy it now option goes away. Is there a way to maintain the buy it now option even after bids have been placed? For example lets say i auction something with a $1.00 opening bid and a $10 buy it now. I'd like bidders to be able to bid up to say $6 and still have the option to buy it now.

set a reserve price - it will stay there until the reserve is met

No. Once someone bids the buy it now option is cancelled. It would be unfair for bidders to lose because someone bought it outright. Bidding is the basis for an auction. The buy it now option is for those who want to buy the item outright, regardless of price without waiting for the auction to end or risking losing the bidding. I have used the buy it now option many times because I didnt want to bid and risk losing the auction.

You may want to go back and read about putting items up for sale on ebay and how to keep a BIN option on your listing. I have not listed anything yet but I am thinking about it.
