Don't you just love that American macho, might is right, divine right of kings attitude. People in this forum like to write bragging letters about how graet America is.

Most correct/progressive thinking people (u conservatives call them liberal) realize that we have to have a strong army to protect us so that we can say, think and do what we want to do.

"if the bad guys win this time, we convert to islam or die, and our women wear burkas and if she makes eye contact with another man on the street, she can be stoned in public. now you tell me."

What is the war on terrorism? Is it the plan to remove terrorism from the face of the planet? Do you REALLY think that's possible? So maybe to lower the number of terrorists? Though, an intelligence report just came out stating that there are more terrorists now (with Bush in control of the US) than in Clinton years and before then...

That's ridiculous. So how does Bush respond? He tells us he wants more troops in Iraq and Afganistan. So MORE killing. Since killing has worked so far, yah know.

Don't get me wrong, not saying terrorists should be left alone. There just has to be a better way. Can you blame me for wanting to stop terrorism in a way that actually LOWERS the number of terrorists?! Isn't that what we want?

What pisses me off is when Bush tells us that they hate us because we're free. That's bs if i've ever heard it. Osama bin Laden hates us because of our interfering in the Middle East. Other terrorist groups started hating us once we stepped foot into the Middle East.

A poll was shown on the Chris Matthews show that said that somewhere in the high 60% of people in Iraq support killing of US troops. That percentage isn't all of hte terrorists, either... that's the civilians. The civilians don't like us. And when civilians get extreme, when they hate us more and more, they become a terrorist!

{edit}

Don't forget another intelligence report that said there is more torture NOW than there was when Saddam was in power...

Bush's reasons for Iraq:
There are WMD's
No WMD's are in Iraq (Intelligence Agency has stated this)

Saddam killed his own people and tortured.
We're torturing the people more than Saddam did

Saddam had ties to Al Queda
Bin Laden in a tape labelled Saddam an infidel

Iraq was a country full of terrorists
There are more terrorists now than before

to some volume, definite. My husband works the Chicago Marathon each and every twelve months, and he commented very last nighttime that if he'd been doing a similar job in Boston, he might want to were suitable in the position of the explosions. for sure this extra homestead the reality of the attack in a fashion no longer some thing else might want to have, and that's made me nervous about the opportunity of a copycat attack in October, even as the Chicago Marathon will be run. besides, I once said as Boston homestead and understand the area the position the explosions got here about fairly properly. I lived interior reach and used to bypass out to cheer on the Marathon runners each and every Patriots' Day. That, too, made the shape extra genuine to me. even with the indisputable fact that, I knew someone who died on 9/11, and as undesirable as this tragedy is, it pales in evaluation, even with the actuality that no longer, I understand, for the loved ones of the lifeless and seriously wounded. as well, my instincts are telling me that this develop into no longer an attack through overseas terrorists yet fairly the paintings of a homegrown nutcase. That circuitously places a diverse complexion on the count number, even with the actuality that for sure i'd properly be fullyyt incorrect.

If by civilization he means the gentrification of the Middle east, then yes. It is a war to save the "civilization" of a place where our , influence, business and technology are not wanted. Otherwise, I think he's pulling your leg.

Bring the Armies home, close the borders and start focusing on how we are going to protect ourselves from China in 50 years.

I believe he is in cahoots with the Radical Christian Right; who like suicide terrorists wish to hurry their way into Heaven. There theme is to quickly bring about the end of the world. We should not spread or think we can spread Democracy to a people who reject it. Most cases the Muslim countries are Religiously run.

See this is why our Founding Father choose separation of Church and State. That is why we don't stone people in the streets for there sins; or other barbaric rules of such countries.

Just one - Bush himself
' Anyone who has studied what is really happening will dispose of the secret services. The CIA/MI6/Mossad/ISI were between them responsible for 9/11,7/7,Madrid train bombing, Bali bombimg.Mumbai train bombing.Lockerbie air disaster, and many others - all blamed on Arabs or Muslims in order to keep people terrorised and prepared to give away their freedom in exchnage for ill-perceived security.

Well I think that most civilized people believe America needs to win the war on terror. It is how he is going about it that some people object to.

isn't it just a little ironic that the liberal left wing in our country will be the first to go if we lose the war on terror and are taken over by the islamist fundamentalist?remember the Taliban? they had no need for movies,t.v.,radio,newspapers, or freedom of any kind. just think of all the people who would be out of a job.
