the crackpot thing was a pre emptive...i figured i'd get that at least 5 times in the 1st 6 or 7 responses...(almost) everything i meant. And sure you're free to watch whatever movie u want, tv show you want, eat your favorite food, etc but, IF we all got together, decided that for example, the military should be on the mexican border, the government would tell the american people to go **hooey** themselves. or if taxes finally got to be too much, and we ALL refused to pay, do you really believe that the government would just say-"eh okay, whatever"...no! of course not. people would be arrested, imprisoned etc.BIG FREEDOM doesn't exist anymore...not realllllly....

If they were not sometimes lieing they wouldnt be politicians. They care about you but mostly treat you as statistic number. Its the problem of being on top and not understanding the problems of normal people like you and me. They dont have good political programs because theirs programs only look splendid while campaign is in progress. After electing everything screw up because people believe in pretty lies and reality is that miracles in politics cant occure. Democracy exist only in a moment when you make your decision who to elect then we have goverment almost not influented by public opinion. Democracy is a worst utopia than any previous. Too much control and lack of honor and real patriotism is a problem. Crimes comes from high taxes and poverty. Which one politician has enough power and competence to work it out? Humanity is weakened than in past and it hurts when I see it.

ALL THE TIME?? Well, if only they were that consistent, at least we could rely on something. The trick is the way little bits of fact are spun into someone's view of things and presented as another truth. These faux facts might then be used as source for another faux fact, until nobody knows what's true anymore. 'True' doesn't matter in politics anyway - that's for religion to argue about.

It's worse than you think, Douglas. The government of the United States is nominally a representative government; a government that represents its citizens. So if the government lies to you and fails to care about you, then you are lying to and failing to care about yourself. You see? It's much, much worse than you think it is.
