I received an email from a buyer about an item I have up for sale. It was not sent through ebay and I was not suspicious since I listed my email publicly.
He asked a question and said his email was hidden for privacy and that I can click on the "RESPOND NOW" logo to answer. I did. It took me to http://bocainternation.com...... page and asked for my screenname and password. I did and it took me right to my real ebay page.
So was I a victim of a phising scam?
I did change my password immediately on ebay... but I can't change the password for my email (which is same as ebay) because I am not a member but just use the email account.

The page is:
http://bocciainternational.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll.php?id
I fell for it because the ebay ID he had was real and had 100% feedback dating from 1998.
I also entered a fake ID and password at that site and it wouldn't work. Only my real ID and password worked. Damn it!

Looks like you were. You should never enter an id and password on any page unless you specifically enterred the URL. Clicking on email links can send you anywhere. The page you have listed is no longer there.

I have been getting a ton of "answers to your question" about products I'm not even interested in, let alone looked at on Ebay. I went to Ebay (not by clicking on the link in the email) and told them about it - looking at their message boards, it's been a problem for a while now.....
Start a new email account and have all your Ebay stuff go there - always go to Ebay by typing their address in the "E" bar, never through a link in an email.

Yes, you have been phished and hooked. It is likely for a website like ebay to have information on phishing so check them out and fidn otu what else you can do besides just changing your password. I remember reading somewhere, I think it was on yahoo, about phishing and what to do when you are caught in one.

Probably...Like anything if it seems weird (or wrong), it probably is.
You might want to let Ebay know about what happened and they can help check it from their end.

yes you were. You should have gone straight to ebay to sign in and answer his question. Now he has access to your personal information. Contact www.spoof@ebay.com and see what they can do for you.
