ok i know they don't find me sexually desirable 'cause i'm a girl but
how can they possibly want to be in a relationship with me.
most importantly, how do i protect myself and figure it out before i fall in love?

1) If this is happening to you, you fall in "love" far too easily and far too quickly
2) all the signs are there if you open your eyes and stop with the wishful thinking.
3) That a guy wants to be a close friend does NOT mean he will fall in love with you
4) relax and let things take their course. No one falls in love at first sight...wait until 5th or 6th sight..if he still looks good, and still shows romantic interest in you, chances are good that he is straight.

think of it this way, girls have girl friends. boys just want to be one of the girls. They dont necessarily love you like marriage, they love you like a girl friend loves you.
Guys want to have sex with the guys, but they want to be friends with girls to experience the closeness a girlfriend can offer.
