we have been friends for awhile and i'm starting to gain feelings for him but i'm not sure he feels the same....what should i do?

Start flirting with him a little and if he flirts back then maybe ask him about it or ask him to go to the movies. He might not like you now but he may start liking you for who you are.
If he doesn't start flirting back then just play it cool for a little bit then decide what's best for you.

do really ask him but not directly since it might ruin ur chances of being his friend any more.
