I don't. I think it's terribly rude. But then if someone has been shopping all day, frustrated because what they want has eluded them, and just minutes before you close, they spot just the right thing in your window, I think you need to have a little compassion for them. Short of this kind of extreme, just politely state that the fitting rooms are closed fifteen minutes before closing, so that everyone can leave on time.
If you can get the shop owner to go along with this rule, so much the better. Because otherwise, you will not close on a tidy, well-picked up shop, and the person who opens in the morning will be cursing as she hangs up the stuff that was tried on and picks up after your shift. Either that, or you end up staying late to tidy up, and that's not fair, either.

5 minutes is 5 minutes. Unfortunately most people dont really care that you are tired from working at a clothing store.. Most people have careers and jobs that require 8-10 hour shifts. How hard can it be to work a clothing store? Besides, its only 5 minutes, how hard can it be to put on a smile for 5 minutes? Isnt that what your getting paid for? It really shouldnt matter that you only get minimum wage, a job is a job. You signed on for it, you took the responsibility.

some do to benefit their budget, cause some store put out their "sale" item before they close so it will be ready for next day..
some do as past time, they wanted to relax, they do window shopping, trying out items that they wanted to have. out of curiosity, they will try and some eventually pay if they really wanted it bad enough...
some do as "emergency" remedy, if they have an urgent event that need to attend to and they feel inappropriately dress up, they shop at the last minute...
some do due to limited time on hand, they only shop when they get off work and they only have few minutes before the store shuts..

I think it is a combination of being way too busy and having no respect for the human race. I'm sure that they wanted to get away from their work on time, but they don't care if you do or not.

Tell them when the store closes and to come back when they've made their decision and that you'd be happy to help them then. It's inconsiderate.
