I would like to have the pump to be sound proof so I can hear my waterfall. I have a pump 1/2 hp pump up to the top of the waterfall 10ft. high. I can hear the pump when I stand close by and can not enjoy the sound of waterfall. Can the pump be sound proof like an entertaiment room with sound proof?

Enclose the pump in housing that has sound dampening materials in it...even a wall will cut down on the noise...You may also want to consider a different pump...there are some very quiet ones out there. I suspect your pump is underpowered and is straining...a 10' or more head is a lot of head for a 1/2 horse pump. Whatever you enclose the pump with, you must make sure there is plenty of moving air over it to cool the motor. I have a 1 hp pump running my Koi pond, it is simply in a deck box, and is all but unnoticed at 4 feet. Yes, I can hear the hum, but not much more, and the water is easily heard. Good luck

i'm interior an analogous boat as you with an modern pond. I even have had it empty for numerous months because of the frog problem. a pair at a time will ensue and breed. they're loud as could properly be. I in basic terms refilled it, and interior 3 days, I even have tiny tadpoles having a solid time. while i offered this place, the pond had goldfish in it. I by no skill had frogs then, so they could consume the eggs/tadpoles. i'm hoping to attempt to restock it with fish. because of the fact the fish died, i did no longer re-inventory the pond because of the fact i did no longer elect the overhead, however the frogs are worse than the artwork required to maintain the fish. And to all of you who say frogs are solid, they consume mosquitos, etc, thank you, yet it is your opinion. we are posting right here because of the fact we don't elect frogs and is honestly no longer confident different clever.

You ever thought of a submersible pump? Seems to me that if it's under enough water, you shouldn't be able to hear it at all!

Above is the link for the pump protectors. If you just scroll up from where the link takes you in, you'll find the pumps as well.

I had to read that twice..... our waterfall pump is in our pond - we can not hear it. Are you not using an underwater pump?
