It can be both like if at work it's nice to be important but i think it's always important to be nice

It depends on the person. Some people have the need to feel important and will do whatever it takes to make themselves appear that way. Since feeling important is important to them, they dont care about being nice. Myself, I'm happy with myself and think being nice is important. Unless someone is being rude to me, then its important to me to tell them to kiss my ***.
