i want to go on holiday but don't know where to go the choice is between China or Egypt. What would you recommend?

Good question. Both countries hae fascinating cultures and histories.
I'd choose China, based on safety. China has especially harsh penalties for anyone who harms a foreigner.
With all the hostility towards westerners (especially Americans) there, I'd avoid Egypt's region, at least for a while. Circumstances can change over the years.

It depends on your personality but I would recommend China because there are many restaurants and stores. China also has isn't as hot as Egypt so if you can't stand really hot weather you should go to China.

I agree all above,both China and Egypt are interesting places,well,if you would like to take walk in great China wall,then choose China,it is being hot .

If your a Muslim go to Egypt but it is not safe at the moment for westerners so go to China.

Egypt for the cultur even though the Chinese have a lot too but I would NEVER ever return there since I've never seen such inpolite,rude people ever! Egypt offers a lot besides a great culture but lovely beach resorts as well!

In all honesty would love to visit both but with the situation at the moment if I were in your place would opt for China.
You never know you may have the opportunity to visit Egypt in the future.
Wherever you decide have a wonderful time.

China, simply because I think the entire mideast even Egypt is a good region to avoid right now.
