If it has little bumps like pimples and is not going away using regular diaper rash cream, then it is most likely a yeast infection. You will need to get an antifungal cream like Lotromin or the 7 day Monistat cream also works just great. the rash should clear up in a few days.

There is a baby cream called Desitin that is great! It's thick and messy, but it clears up diaper rash in a day or two. Also, if your child is having lots of number 2s, then applying regular vaseline helps protect the skin. I would apply vaseline to the area once or twice daily just to keep diaper rash away.

Did you change his diet? Did he sit in poop for too long?
It's happened to my son too, doesnt seem to bother him 1 bit but it's really horripble to look at.
I always put A&D ointment on him, whether he has pooped or not. I buy the big jar of it and anytime I change his diaper I put some between his butt cheeks. He has rashed up a few times though, If he's had citrus based foods or if I've had hot food (I'm still nursing). I've used Desitin on the affected area and continued to use the A&D along with it.
He'll be fine.

might want to or not that's a yeast an infection? even as my son receives like that we leave him without a diaper to air dry even as accessible or maybe as no longer accessible, we positioned a layer of an anti-fungal cream like Lotrimen with a layer of Triple Paste on suitable and somewhat the cornstarch powder. We use the Lotrimen for the different diaper replace and in simple terms the Triple Paste and powder in between. We also quit using wipes and in simple terms use water and towels to sparkling him up. This regularly seems after it particularly instantly! good luck!

First don't use diaper wipes right now they cause more irritation. Use just warm water and let them air dry. Next use OTC stuff like desitin or something like that put that on then cover with Vaseline it acts like a barrier. We use a prescription called Greer's Goo.I'm not sure if your doctor uses that or not. We'll call it in even without seeing the child.

Let him sit in warm bath water that you have added corn starch to. Also dusting his bottom with corn starch. Keep the diaper off as much as possible so the rash can get air.
The rash may need a steroid based ointment to get rid of it. Thank God you're one of the mom's that consult a doctor instead of relying solely on this site!! Good luck to you and your son.

A zinc based diaper rash cream (ie. Desiten Sudocrem etc.) with canesten or monistat (over the counter yeast infection cream) and vaseline on top of it all. It's the trifecta of sore bums.

Give your baby's bottom time to air out if you can. Get some hypoallergenic diapers until the rash heals. Give your baby an oatmeal bath and after that keep applying Vaseline to the baby's bottom.

A really quick way to get rid of diaper rash... brown just a little flour in a skillet, when it cools sprinkle a little on your baby's butt. Works great!
