Early spring. Most mail order nurseries will ship strawberry plants in the spring only. That's also when you will usually find them at local garden centers.

Here in Wisconsin we plant in the early spring.You won't get many berries the first year but you'll get a lot of runners with new plants. Good Luck !

Definately in the spring, but for sure I would watch for them to come in to the garden centre and pick them up early.
You want to get "ever bearing" for berries all summer long.
