you fall in love with a person, not a race, gender or religion. You're WAY more mature than those people - they are too shallow to ever love someone different to them. Good for you. stand up for the man you love!

Life is hard and i would think that you put alot of thought into this before you married a black husband. Then my next question is this. If you are happy with your husband and your choice then why do you care what people think. You should not cause you made a choice. People judge others no matter what the race. People are rude and crude no matter what the race. Why should you care what other people think unless you are making choices by what they think. Are you? The way i would handle the problem is IGNORE them. And then under your breath call them and IDIOT!!!!!!

I have seen situations where that happens especially with my parents. My father was black and my mum was white and they did get alot of bashing comments but true love prevails and they are happily married for 23 years now and now lots of people have stopped giving them a hard time already becos its not gonna change their relationship anyway. So my advice to you is ignore anyone who don't respect ur relationship with him and if your friends are giving u a hard time then they aren't ur friends at all if they can't respect ur wishes and all that matters is if u love him and he loves u back and if u both do want to get married then take the plunge! There are lots of couples out there who are black and white and they are happy. So why shouldn't u be? Best of luck!

good luck , this is something that will never be accepted 100%. it is all through alot of our families now. some of us would like to live in a communitiy with all blood lines untainted. i have heard the comment people make of toughen your skin and carry on. but i am sure it does not help the hurt you all must feel. the truth is , hun some may never accept this. we don't have an answer for changing the way predjice may creep upon your life. an explain to your childern , love has no age or color. you can't change others feelings ,or the beliefs some may have.

My husband is Arab and I'm white. We have had the same problems. My family thought he would beat me and treat me with mo respect and his family thought I was an "American Whore".
You obviously love your husband if you married him, so just hold on to that love, no matter what.
I've been married for 2 years and my husbands family quickly embraced me as a family member. My family still doesn't like my husband though.
There are stereotypes about any race, and most of the time they are not true. But they aren't that great to live with.
Good luck to you.

I've had this problem because most of my boyfriends have been black men. When somebody says something rude or spiteful about it, I usually ignore them for the most part--don't get riled up. I just roll my eyes, then look up at my bf and say to him (not them) "Let's go, I can't stand to be around ignorant bigots." Then I kiss him (a good one!), hold his hand, he puts his arm around my waist, and off we go. I never even give them a look back. It probably doesn't teach them anything, but it shows my disdain for their stupidity.

Why would you say anything? You don't owe rude and ignorant people any reply. If you feel like you must say something - simply look them straight in the eye and say very calmly " Why would you think it is any of your business?" Then turn and walk away. They obviously want to get a rise out of you. Don't give them what they want.

If you see them as friends, they are not!!!! It's hard to know what to say. Ask they if they know they are rude & hateful to the 2 of you. Just shake your head & walk away. Stare at them & say nothing. Hang around other people. Ask them who died & left them in charge. Tell them they need to get a life. The list could go on & on.

I think prejustice is stupid and if the both of you are happy who cares what anyone else thinks. As long as he is good to you and you love each other thats all that matters. People shouldnt judge a book by its cover.
