I still don't know which is which... is he crashing your comp from your computer or from another place and 'hacking' your computer.

If he is doing this from your computer, get a password locker or have your screensaver on with password protection. Also, change your password to a different password. In the case, he may have your current password and fooling you around.

If he is hacking into your computer from another computer, get a firewall. Try networkice.com

There can be many answers to your question, if you could be more specific in the method he uses to crash your computer, it would help a bit more. It's just the matter of time you want to put into it.... like how some people suggest to get a antivirus program, or antitrojan, spyware, adware, blah blah blah. It'll take you days to complete scan your computer and so on and if it isn't a virus or anything, it's easy to be in front of the computer and delete a directory or two.

ANOTHER thing you may want to do... this helped my brother many time. Get A External Hard Drive and Backup ALL Your Important Work.

External hard drive can easily be connected and disconnected from your computer. By having your data on an external hard drive, its plug it in and plug it out. Then in a sense, 'hide' your external hard drive somewhere else. This may end up being the 'faster' way for your needs.

The best thing that I think you should do is install a virus protection program if you don't already have one. I would recommend that you install Ad-Aware SE. When you install it be careful not to install something that looks similar but is not spelled the same. When it's installed the icon you should get on your computer should be a red circle with the live through it and the letters "SE" above it. When ever you go on your computer after the person tries to crash it, run this virus program and delete any viruses it finds on your computer. Not only will this make your computer run faster, it will stop it from crashing.

I use ad-aware also and it was recommended to me by the tech that came out to hook up my internet through the cable company.

Otherwise unhook it from the internet when you are not on the computer until you get a firewall up and running.

If you also put the password on the computer be careful because if he has installed a back door to your computer he may still get into your computer.

I run a hardwire router that is extra protection and then they don't have your IP address.

Hope this helps

Install a good firewall, like ZoneLabs ZoneAlarm (www.zonelabs.com). They have a pretty good free version. Apart from that: disconnect your computer from the network or internet if you don't need teh connection.

probably he tricked you to install a trojan, now he has control to your system and can do fun things like restart your computer, get antivirus and clean it, or don't connect to internet :)

If you have windows XP then you can set a password he has to know before he can even log onto your operating system.
