steam roll has the right answer for pantry moths, mostly. One step that was forgotton was to check all canned goods for cocoons, scrub them off the cans. other than that it was well covered. As for closet pests, store all wool or other tastey fibres such as alpaca, cotton, real furs, etc in a cedar chest. If this is not possible, there are cedar boards you can by with hanger hooks on them that you can hang in your closet in between tasty ( to the moths) items. Periodically refresh cedar wood with cedar essential oil, available at your local heathfood store or through frontier herbs http://www.frontiercoop.com/dspCmnPrd.php?p=t&cn=Atlas%20Cedarwood&ct=anpceoeo
( one drop every six months or so) or sand the inside of a cedar chest with a fine sandpaper. they also have little cedar balls you can put on drawers. Hope this helps!

I just found a site with thousands of downloadable woodworking plans, it s really great. You can check it out here ( woodworkingplans.kyma.info ) Here is an honest review : If you want to start a woodworking project, you need all the necessary information, including schematics, blueprints, materials lists, dimensions etc. That is where TedsWoodworking comes in. The plans are clearly drawn and there're step-by-step explainations of how the plan should be done and put together. There are several other sites whose collection of plans have the dimensions totally wrong without any indication of parts lists, material lists or the tools needed. If you're one of those people who have bought plans like this in the past, TedsWoodworking will change your perception. In Ted's Woodworking you will get everything you need: Diagrams which are detailed with a full set of dimensions, step-by-step instructions how to start your project and the necessary materials for that particular project. All the woodworking tools you will need: If you are a beginner or have done some woodworking you will find these plans easy-to-follow as the instructions are very clearly written. The woodworking plans are straightforward so they are not complicated at all. Even if you are a total newcomer to woodworking you will simply be able to master all the techniques that are needed and the woodworking skills very quickly by following the concise and clear instructions. Another thing which is so great about these woodworking plans is that there have been some videos included and there are some to guide you in how to build benches home furniture dog houses bird feeders sheds and much much more. There is also a lifetime member acess included in the package and you get these extras for no cost to you as they are free with no additional charges at all! This alone is worth the entire price for TedsWoodworking. Ted Mcgrath is a very dedicated and experienced woodworker who knows what he is talking about when it comes to woodworking and DIY projects s he has been a woodworker for many many years. There is only one drawback that we could find and that being with 16,000 woodworking plans you are bound to get some which look a little disorganized but that is understandable as it is very difficult to place all these plans into their proper categories. Secondly, it might take you a little longer to do the downloads on because of the size of them. But the members area include an option to upgrade to the DVD so you can save time on downloading. I've been a carpenter for almost 36 years, and I haven't found anything like this for less than 10's of thousands of dollars. Here's the bottom line: If you are planning to start on your woodworking project, this isn't something you SHOULD use, it's something that you would be insane not to. Check the site: ( woodworkingplans.kyma.info )

I'm having the same problem and I don't know where they hide.
I have cleaned and vacuum the whole house, I also sprayed insecticide everywhere. A couple of times I have found some cocoons that I quickly got rid of. I found them in different places and far from each other. I never found any inside any food package but I threw away all the open cereals, pasta and so on. I have looked at the closed packages and I didn't see anything suspicios.
I have killed all the moths I have seen, after I did the cleaning last weekend, yesterday I didn'tsee any, (I used to see 4 or 5 everyday) but today I saw one just when I thought they had one away. God knows how many more there are hidden or in their coccoon.
What else can I do? I don't want them in my house

Moths are wonderful?? UGH! The most obvious answer would be mothballs, but they are poisonous so don't use them indoors. Maybe toss some around your foundation to keep them away from your house? If you have an attic you may want to consider putting them there also.
Moths also hate cedar. Try getting some cedar bedding (local K-Mart, Wal-Mart, etc.) that's used for hamster and gerbils cages. Put it where ever you see the most moths. They also sell blocks of cedar...may be easier for you to use.
Hope some of this helps!

Hey, how ya doin'? Would you believe, yes, I had the same problem and it took me forever to figure it out, so I will share with you.
The darn things come in on cereal, or any spice, rice, noodles, any kind of a dry product. Throw it all out. Anything with flour in it. After that, now, I just check periodically to see if anything is moving before I use it. Sometimes those mealy bugs are almost invisible. But that is the crux of your problem. Cereal, especially. After you remove the stuff, sweep out, suction out the cupboard and scrub, and dry thoroughly, and you should be okay. Please do not feel bad about this, those little demons come in with the groceries. Be sure, also, to check the dates of your groceries and try not to get anything too old. I am now just getting what I will use up fairly quickly. Thinking about you. Don't dispair.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Bugs in your flour and cornmeal? Suspect pantry moths or weevils. The first line of defense is good housekeeping.
Steps
1. Check for infestation. Examine all food packages for telltale signs of moth or weevil infestation: webbing in corners, grains clumped together with sticky secretions, or small holes in containers. Also look for small bugs in the food or little moths flying around the kitchen. If you find them, read on.
2. Clean infested areas. Vacuum cupboards, then thoroughly scrub all shelves with soapy water, paying close attention to cracks and corners. Dry the cleaned area thoroughly. Keep cupboard and food-storage areas dry.
3. Discard infested food.
4. Store food properly. Clean containers with hot, soapy water, then rinse and dry them thoroughly before refilling. Use tightly sealed metal, glass or hard plastic containers to store food; plastic bags are inadequate, as insects can get through them. Keep old and new food separate, and keep infrequently used items in the freezer.
5. Eliminate the pests' food sources (such as improperly stored food) and breeding grounds (such as rodent nests).
Tips & Warnings
* Pantry moth larvae eat a wide assortment of foods, ranging from flour to dried chiles and candy.
* It takes six to eight weeks for the pantry moth to complete its life cycle.
* Do not use pesticides in or around any area where food is prepared or on food itself.

moth balls, all of the dry food needs to be put into sealed containers the cabinets need to be vacuumed and washed down. supposedly a bay leaf in each containers helps. everything needs to be gone thru such as flour, dog food, flowers dried beans. cookies, cereal, you name a dried good and it needs to be gone thru and thrown out. It is a major job and I do not envy your task at hand if all else fails try a nuclear bomb and that may not even work . they are tough to get rid of Good Luck

Camphor, available from health food shops. It is the principle igredient of mothballs, smelly but non-toxic for humans, though deadly to moths.
Good luck

Use a mixture of brown sugar and olive oil, then lightly scrub your lips with it, and rinse. Use a clean toothbrush and scrub lips in a gentle circular motion, then rinse and add Vaseline.
