People don't have to be slim to feel most comfortable. Some people are very insecure, and when they see slim celebrities with lots of mates, they think that being thin is the answer to all their problems.

Often people need to feel slim becasue they are insecure about their bodies, they are paid to do a job that needs them to be slim (models) or they have an illness (like anorexia).
Personally I am not lsim and none of my family is iether and we are all very content with ourselves.

Having wings it would be pretty tricky to fly if I wasn't light. Having said that some of the 'larger' fairies seem to manage ok - they just have thicker wings. If you haven't got the wing issue, then i think it must be merely one of your human hang-ups - probably inspired and fueled by the male dominated advertising agencies and media. Thankfully trolls don't really have much of a say in Fairyland and so we don't have such a fantasy driven view of our bodies.

Because the media had brainwashed people into thinking they have to look a certain way to be attractive or be acceptable. Bull ****!!!!! I refuse to give in to the hype. I'm not over weight or out of shape, but I dont starve or torture myself to try to look like someone who I dont think is all that attractive in the first place.

you know i went and read all of this comments and they make a good point when you see a person overweight you completly judge them thinking that they must eat a lot of food or something and people who are fat they get made fun of for there weight i dont think its fair thats why girls or gys get pressured into making themselves vomit or not eat at all society has decided that when people are fat they need to be skinny in order to fit in it seems like they only say it to teens and young people but as you start to get older your not going to be attractive anymore your going ot gain weight and get wrinkles so i dont understand why people discriminate against overweight people

It is due to symmetry. When you are a bit too big in any parts of the body, it does not look natural. Of course symmetry is impossible, no one is perfect. But we expect perfect due to photos and movies. Forget that computers make them perfect. We do not want to hear that!

its pressure from society.. we dont feel we fit in unless we are a size zero. i blame the likes of victoria beckham. we should,nt feel this way. every one should be happy whatever their size.
