Wash them again. This time add arm & hammer baking soda to the water.
If it doesnt work the first time, dry them in the dryer and wash them once again using the baking soda.
I had this problem this summer. I actually ran a wash cycle through, letting it fill then added a box of baking soda, run through and complete the cycle.
Im not sure which helped. All I know is that it worked.

I have this problem alot. I use Gain joyful expresions mmmm! The hottest water and bleach after washer is full not directly on the clothes or someone else said Amonia I bet that would work to. i wouldn't dry them until the smell is out but don't let them set in a pile hang them or lay flat to dry.

Split the clothes up into two loads instead of one so they have more room to wash well. First, wash them with Borax in the hottest water the clothes can stand. Wash each load twice in the Borax solution, then give them a regular wash with OxyClean, or your favorite detergent, and don't overdue on the fabric softener. Dry them on permanent press cycle and they should be ok.

Can also use liquid amonia, no danger of bleaching, about 1/2 cup to 1 cup for full wash cycle. It is also the cheapest. One rinse or 2 rinses if your skin is very sensitive. It happens to my cleaning rags in the summer in my car from house to house (kept in my trunk at the end of the day). It works great.

David, David, David,
Have you not heard of Clorox bleach? Rewash. When washer is full of water, add your detergent (I like Cheer), and 1 cup of Clorox. Do not add directly on clothes because you know, it will bleach them out. Should take out all odor. Are you rinsing well? Sometimes a double rinse does the trick, too.

I've had pretty good luck with a Febreze product that is designed for use in the laundry.

You could try some fabric softener, like Downy.
