My mom did this when I had my son, he's 12 and very healthy. He was crying and crying and I'll never forget. My mom warmed up water and dipped chamomille tea in it for just a second, it barely turned yellow. Let your granddaughter drink a couple ounces and just rub her belly in large circles around her belly button, but gently, not hard pressure. You should start hearing her let out gas and before you know it, you'll have a dirty diaper. I have done this for both my children and it is doctor approved.

corn syrup. Dip her passifier in it and let her suck on it. She is only 6 weeks old, you cannot feed her prune juice. At 3 months it is ok if you dilute it with distilled water by 50% but 6 weeks is too young. If the corn syrup does not work, talk to the doctor at her baby wellness appointment.
Also, if the baby is getting breast fed, have mommy drink lotsa prune juice. It will give mommy the runs but the componats get broken down and travel thru the brest milk.

I child that young can NOT have juice. Her system isn't mature enough to have anything but formula. We had to change my sons formula and he gets a teaspoon of corn syrup twice a day. Reducing his iron intake by changing formula and giving him the syrup has really helped. If these things don't help you will need to tell her doctor. You have to be very careful that she doesn't get impacted. That can be very dangerous for babies.

i always used regular old syrup and water but since she is so young i would just put 6ounces of water and a teaspoon of syrup and then just mix it. i always used syrup for my kids. I think it works good and works pretty fast too.

She's too young to be given any medication for constipaton. Try to give her a little cooled boiled water. I take it she is not breastfed. Maybe the formula milk is not right for her? Try another milk and see how you get on. If not contact your GP.

She is too young for either of those. If she`s drinking formula such as "Similac" try changing to the one without iron for a little while.
