"Filial" means relating to a son/daughter; what is the equivalent of this word for parents, besides parental? Is there another word for it?

Well, for individual parents it would be maternal and paternal ; for parents together, the only word is parental. I did a check on dictionary.com in the thesaurus section; the only synonym it gave was maternal. Interestingly enough, it lists "filial" as an antonym.

"Filial" actually refers to the relation between child and parent. Like you hear about "filial piety," which in context basically means "honor your parents." The closest antonym probably would be "parental."
