definitely.
you've just gotta be strong to go through with it. willpower, and loads of motivation/support from friends and family.
Exercise, watch what you eat and how much you eat it. drink loads of water and do some reading.
Good websites to check out could include www.bodybuilding.com, fitnessmagazine.com or shape.com.
If you're in the states, get a copy of fitness magazine. try doing their fitness programme for a month and see how it goes. Dont be discouraged it the weight doesnt disappear fast. remember.... you didnt put on the weight overnight. so.... be patient.
Weigh yourself about once every 2 weeks and track your progress. last but not least, good luck!

Yes. I've lost 4 stone and my skin is fine - no looseness, sagging or excess skin.
This could be because I'm only 19, or that I lost the weight by exercising a lot.

Why not tighten up the body? Then, no matter what your weight is; you look great!
You do this by lifting and HOLDING something heavy for 60 seconds. Do Mon-Wed-Fri.
Way to hold something; bend over, squat down, and keep your elbows bent. This forces the muscles to hold the weight, not your bones. Then stand still and HOLD the weight. Use a clock with a sweep hand to keep track of the time. I put mine on the floor in front of me.

is that to have excess skin taken off after losing the 4 stone or do you still need to lose it-if so lots of low fat food, plenty of water and exercise.

I'd say that it's possible, as long as it's done slowly, so the skin doesn't loose too much elasticity
