What's the term that describes the phenomenon of knowing everything yet still continuing to do what you've been doing all along, even though you know it's bad and unethical?

For example, I know that there's a recyling bin a few blocks away and I know that killing trees is bad, but yet I still throw my piece of paper into the garbage.

The term has slipped my mind! Argh! Help me!!!!

The correct term is STUPID. If you recognise the consequence and continue to make an inappropriate choice.

The word that comes to my mind is "non-compliant". You know what you should do, know how to do it, but you are not "complying" to your knowledge.
