i have a group of friends who are really comfortable to be with, and they are all really nice i guess, but they are influencing me negatively in an academic way (since we have an academic gap as in they are lower)... i feel really bad if i have to leave them, but i wud also be really happy to join the more 'well rounded' group... should i leave them?

Yes you should leave them . Because you should look for long term plane not short term .

In the world we live in today, your education is the most important thing in your life. You could just spend less time with them. If this does not work, then you should find a new group of friends. What you do now will have a lasting effect on the rest of your life.
