ionic bond be defined as the bond formed by the complete transfer of electron form one atom to the another bonding atom, while covalent bond is formed by the mutual sharing of electrons
Example of ionic is sodium chloride formation and that of covalent bond is nitrogen molecule

Covalent Bonds-Covalent bonding is a style of chemical bonding between 2 non metallic atoms it truly is characterised by skill of the sharing of pairs of electrons between atoms and different covalent bonds. A covalent bond is shaped between 2 non-metals which have similar electronegativities. Neither atom is "good" adequate to charm to electrons from the different. For stabilization, they share their electrons from outer molecular orbit with others Ionic Bonds-Ionic bond, also conventional as electrovalent bond is a form of bond shaped from the electrostatic charm between oppositely charged ions in a chemical compound. those sorts of bonds happen really between a metallic and a non metallic atom. An ionic bond is shaped between a metallic and a non-metallic. Non-metals(-ve ion) are "stronger" than the metallic(+ve ion) and would get electrons very honestly from the metallic. those 2 opposite ions charm to one yet another and variety the ionic bond. EG: Covalent: Methane (CH4), Hydro Chloric acid (HCL), which factors are all nonmetals Ionic: Sodium chloride (NaCl), Sulphuric Acid (H2SO4 ) etc.

Ionic bonds are between a metal and a non-metal (or positive charge+negative charge). A covalent bond is between two non-metals (these would both have negative charges that are shared). I'm not sure what happens when you have a semi-metal, though.

covalent bonds are bondings that are shared.
