It is not only useful, it is foundational. While this term has become loaded with a lot of political freight, it still points to the essential truth that can not be hidden: male dominance in cultures around the world that is self-perpetuated at the expense of women is wrong. Period. And as a civilized global community we must redress this balance immediately if we are to become a true international family of equals.
