install ansti-spyware and anti-virus tools (tons of choices) I'd buy an anti-virus and download Spybot S&D. Keep your system patched and run a firewall, the XP SP2 firewall is sufficient.

For SpyWare get the following programs:
SpyWare Blaster
AdAWare SE
but I dont know any free anti virus software

Get ZoneAlarm Security Suite and Avast Verison 4.7 Home Edition, and then you can pretty much forget about the spy and virus prolems. Zone Alarm has a free copy but the 49 dollar one is the best. Avast is free to home users but business have to pay for it. Great programs and they work pretty good together.

The combination of a firewall (Zone alarm is a good & free firewall) & "Yahoo toolbar with Spyware Blocker" should give you best results.
I have been using it from many yrs, without any problem. try this...

If you are using windows xp install the service pack2 which gives you more protection or install antispyware softwares like Microsoft Antispyware Beta or Spybot Etc

use the microsoft anti virus software...or norton...stay away from **** sites...and dont download anything from an unknown source....
