Search optimisation software is useless. The big search engines now ignore meta tags, as too many sites lie. The only useful SEO is ensuring you have good content, valid HTML, and use regular links for navigation.

Software that submits your sites to search engines for you can get you banned from their indexes. Robots.txt also doesn't affect if you're included - it only lets you say what you don't want included.

To get listed, you just need some external links pointing in. It's easy to do this - just make sure the sites you use anyway have your URL in your profile.

what we want is not always what we get, I don't think that it would be easy to add your geocities site, make sure that the meta tag is not missing, and that your site has external links.

p.s. sites like google update their database like once in month or so, but they are very strict, get some free software that will help you improve your website rating, also don't forget about robots.txt file(very important if you want your site added)
