Are you confused, a Brit, or just not up on your history? The American settlers were being taxed to death with out any say so or form of govt. involvement. They weren't greedy they were tired of working hard for what they had and having to give it up to some king across an ocean.

It is tough to fumble through this question but impossible not to respond to such a non-sensical, abject, and all together poorly written question. First, "Independence". Second, "Excuse".
And go look on-line and check out how many conflicts or all out wars are happening right now, today, over a lack of proper representation for all in respective governments. The war was fought because the colonies did all the work and got none of the rewards. We now have a country where people can at least get a chance at wealth and freedom if they are willing to work for it. And not everyone takes this for granted as your question suggests. We are not fat, wealth-mongering sloths who soak up the riches of the world from a La-Z-Boy. Everyone I know has a job, many have two. You are ridiculous.

Haven't you heard, war is good business.For every bullet fired, someone has to make a new one.so everyone benefits. I saw an answer that said her son wasn't getting rich. IN the late 50's I was In japan I was getting $2.16 a day.
