Mollies, they can be hardy enough to survive in marine aquariums, and they will get along well with other types of fish. Male Bettas can be good as well, providing you only buy one of them.

Pretty much most tropical fish are inexpensive, colorful, and low maintenance (understand however, that low maintanence does not equal no maintenance).

What fish to get is largely based on personal preference. Take a trip to your local fish or pet store, find some fish you like (write down what kind they are) and do some research on their needs and requirements.

Cycle your tank properly, stock with compatible fish in an adequately sized tank and you'll find your options are near endless.

I like neon tetras they school at the bottom of the tank and cost about 1.29 each and also zebra danios because the school at the top of the tank and cost about the same as neons. By putting neons and zebras in the same tank your tank will have both the top and bottom of the tank full of movement.

I would suggest tetras. They are very friendly to other tetras and come in a variety of colors from bright red to a pale yellow. also they are usually under $5

i would go for neon tetra's, very colourfull, very easy to look after, if you go for a Siamese fighter, only get 1 male, 2 or 3 females (2 or more male fighters will fight to the death)

Goldfish, don't take them for granted. Or you could just go to meijer's or a pet store, and see which ones you like best.
