If humans evolved from monkeys what did monkeys evolve from can anyone show me a diagram that shows the humans evolution right back to a singled cell organism?

Richard Dawkins wrote an entire book on this very topic -- it's called "The Ancestors Tale".

The picture you are asking for is known as a phylogenetic diagram or phylogenetic tree. It shows the relationships between living species and their ancestor species. Below, there is a link to a diagram for the most recent species that were on the road to modern humans.

From the diagram, you can see that humans did not evolve from monkeys. Modern humans, known as Homo sapiens, evolved from a previously existing (but now extinct) species of humans, known as Homo heidelbergensis. H. heidelbergensis, in turn, had evolved from either Homo erectus or Homo habilis. And so the tree is traced back ...

A similar tree can be drawn for apes: existing apes evolved from previous ape species that are now extinct. And a similar tree can be drawn for monkeys: existing monkeys arose from previously existing monkey species that are now extinct.

The diagram below doesn't show it, but if you go far enough back you will find that these diagrams connect to each other: at about 5 - 6 million years ago, our ancestor species was also the ancestor species of the chimpanzees and bonobos (the apes most closely related to Homo sapiens). This is sort of similar to a family tree: if you go two generations back, you find that you and your cousins on one side of your family share the same grandparents.

Farther back in time, there would be a common ancestor for H. sapiens and gorillas. Farther still, a common ancestor for us and orangutans. To find the common ancestor with most monkeys would involve going back tens of millions of years = the oldest apes existed perhaps more than 20,000,000 years ago. Thus, the oldest common ancestor for Homo sapiens and the most closely related species of monkey would have been alive more than 20,000,000 years ago.

Primates have been around a lot longer than that though, with the oldest known primates existing at least 55,000,000 years ago. If you guess that the common ancestor between humans and most monkeys (there are over 250 species of monkeys) was around 40,000,000 years ago, that means there might be something like 500,000 greats grandfather between you and me, Homo sapiens, and that common ancestor of todays monkey and ape species.

To trace our lineage back to the first complex single celled organism (the earliest eukaryote) might involve going back as far as about 3,000,000,000 or 3,500,000,000 years - and an absolutely uncountable number of generations. I'm sorry, but I don't have time to do that much typing ;-)

hello
let me put it this way , we didnt evolve from the same "monkeys" we know today , but this monkeys and us were avolved from the same creature.
after all , we all evolved from microorganizems that where here and got here somhow (unknown) about 4.5 bilion years ago.

at the Dinazzors time Mamels were subground creatures , very small , and after somthing hppend , apperently a metaor hited earth , ther ewas a "Radioactive winter" wich means, ther was Dast in the atmosphear that coverd the light.
so all upground creatures died and the small creatures that lived underground could suvive and slowly evolved to all the mamals we know today.

if you want , i will give here pictures that shows the phylogenesis tree of evolution to human and apes.

Humans didn't evolve from monkeys any more than your cousin evolved from you. But if you go back far enough, you find that modern humans and modern apes *did* both evolve from the same ancestor.

Your premise is incorrect. Humans and monkeys evolved from common ancestors. Chimpanzees are our closest cousins on the tree of life.

That is a good website. (below) The old "why are there still monkeys" argument is still meaningless. You could say "well why are there still amphibians if you say reptiles evolved from them? " if an organism is adapted to its environment, there is no compulsion for it to change.

His name is Prof. Richard Dawkins, He is Professor of zoology at Oxford university. Yes he writes books on Darwinism, in fact he is one of his most well known champions . I have seen him interviewing creationists on TV He "eats them alive" believe me

Humans didn't evolve from monkeys or anything simian ,,,,,And I see that one of the people that tried to answer your question mentions a Richard Darwin ,,,,,,Well,,,, I have never heard of him and I'm sure he didn't write the books on the subject that Charles Darwin did ,,,,, And Darwin's theory on evolution ,,,, was just that ,,,,Theory,,,,,, There is no solid scientific proof that man evolved from a lower form of animal ,,,,,This point has been argued back and forth every since Darwin came up with this hair brain idea,, It is man himself that judged Darwin"s theory factual ,,,,, not actual facts ,,,,,

I think you got it all wrong. I don't think we evolved from moneys. I think they are just our closest ancestors.
