Sometimes the direct approach is best, just ask. But if that seems too bold for your liking, look for the following signs. Pay attention to your conversations with the person in question.
1) Does this person show a special interest in having a conversation with you and, once started, make an effort to keep that conversation going?
2) Has this person taken a sudden interest in your life and hobbies? This is a sure sign that he or she is interested in something.
3) Other elements of body language include frequent eye contact, holding your gaze and looking down before looking away.
4) Does the person you're wondering about just plain smile at you a lot?
Just remember, take each moment like it will be the last. This I feel will be a good start for you in knowing. Good Luck!!!!!!!

Boys can be really strange. They will flirt with you and naturally you'll think he like you in 'that way'. But then he's saying he likes you just as friends so I'm thinking maybe he's more comfortable with how your relationship is at the moment and doesn't want to enter into anything more serious.

I'd leave it. From what you've said he hasn't necessarily made any committed gestures and surely its better to be on speaking terms and having fun and not being embarrassed than the opposite situation.

Sounds like you're both too young to be having these kinda thoughts/worries. You need to concentrate on your education and worry about the "Boys" later in life.

He is a boy, you are a girl. Of course he likes you... a little now. If you want him to like you more then you have to make him feel good and comfortable. How do you make him feel good? That depends on how old you are...

boys think if you talk about weiners you want to see theres.. not that they like you.. maybe talk about other things and start to get to know him and then maybe he will like you and maybe you will have things in common..
