i love my brother and would never hurt him but she and i grew so close during their 2 year relationship. why they broke up ? she said she just "stopped loving him " ? I cant blame her (we cant always control our hearts right ?) she could have lied and stayed. that would be a bad thing right ?

I understand completly.. I dated a guy for 5 years and his family and I were really close.. IT was hard for me because he broke up with me. But my advice for you would be to remain friends with her but if your brother still cares for her do not let him know of things that you talk about or things that she is doing that will hurt him and you do not want to do that.. After 10 years of not dating my ex his sister and I are still freinds.. It is possible.. Good Luck!

Na, its cool if u and her have become friends out of this.. but u should ask ur brother how he feels out of respect for him, if it bothers him let him know that ur going to be friends with her but u will try to keep her away from him to where he doesnt have to deal with her.. as soon as he gets over her and finds a new love he wont care she'll be just a thing of the past.. but i may cause problems for the his next gf, cause if she has to see the old flame.. she may get jealous lol..

I remain close friends with my brother's ex wife and my brother remains friends with my ex husband. My brother and I don't have a problem with that, we don't ever get up in each other's business and say who we can and cannot have for our friends.

Talk to your brother about it first.

If he has a problem with it, then I think you need to stop hanging out with her.
If he is okay with it, then keep hanging out with her.

The thing is, your brother should be more important to you than his ex-girlfriend, and if he's going to be hurt with you staying friends with her, then you need to respect his feelings.

Plus maybe she's staying your friend to in a way stay connected to your brother....

Respect your brother's feelings, whatever they may be.

You and your brother are both adults, you should be able to choose who you are friends with. I'm friends with a couple of my brothers exs....one brother is fine with it, my other brother don't like it but I'm a big girl and I can pick my friends.

Well, your brother & his ex may not like each other anymore, but it shouldn't ruin your friendship with her.
