Whatever the manufacturer of the vehicle recommends, if you are using 93 octane in a vehicle that specifies 87, you will not gain anything.
Also, the brand of fuel makes a big difference. Choose a quality branded fuel such as Chevron, Shell/Texaco, BP/Amoco, or Mobile. These fuels contain a better quality additive that will let your engine run cleaner and leave less carbon deposits.
The fuels I would stay away from are any non-branded such as Citgo, 7-11, Racetrack, or Circle-K
I long time ago I use to think there was no difference, until I started to work for a Petroleum Company and realized how big a difference there are between fuels

Let's play this game one more time. All fuel burns at different speeds regular Burns fastest and is the most un pure. Mid grade is for cars that need more octane to slow the burn down, Premium fuel is needed where the engine is running high compression With the slowest burn time premium fuel heats air more efficiently thus makes more power. All engines heat air to push pistons or rotors RX-8. So use the lowest grade fuel your engine will run without PING! rattle sound when accelerating. Or run what the car is supposed to have. My 2006 Holden Manaro Pontiac GTO 6.0 liter 11 to 1 compression engine uses only premium and makes over 400 horsepower

well ill telll you my opinion(,I work in the refinerys )the worst sludge ive seen in a gasoline tank was In a Premium gas tank .. Mid grade gas is a 60 40 blend of regular and premum id go with that if my vehicle required higher octane ,,unless specified regular gas is what the vehicle was designed to use... Exon adds an additive to regular gas ..Texaco says they do but ive never seen an injection pump for Texaco at any of our loading racks where the trucks load. Exon has one good luck.

Octane ratings do NOT refer to how clean the gas is or the rate it burns. It is it's anti-knock (pinging) rating. the higher the number the less likely it will cause a ping. Your owners manual will recommend what grade of gas you need unless engine modifications have been made.

This depends on the engine that's using it. If your engine is designed for premium, you should only use premium. Most cars are designed to use regular. Check your owner's manual to determine the best fuel

premium is the best it has the highest octane usually 93 which means it is a cleaner gas which will keep your engine cooler and improve gas milage but is usually the highest priced

If Prememium is the best then that is it, because if your too cheap to buy regular gas than your too cheap for anything :P No offence.

it depends on your engine, if you don't have a high output v-8 then regular will do just as good as ant of the other. it depends on what octane your engine requires.
