i need to know which processer is better for an advanced desktop home using pc:
1.AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual-Core
2.Intel® Core™2 Duo processors

AMD chips have been far superior to intel chips until recently when Intel came out with the Core 2 Duo. Despite what some say the AMD chips also were much easier to cool than the very hot Intel chips.
Now with the Core 2 Duo Intel has taken the performance lead away and they also run cool and efficient. At the moment I don't think you can go wrong with either one. AMD for the best bang for the buck or Intel for bragging rights. Whichever one you decide on it will be worth your while to really study your motherboard and video card choices and I would get 2 Gb of ram.

Amd 64 x2 is by far the best, i have AMd 4200+ 64 x2 dual core 940 pin.it runs cool and has excelent cpu speeds of 2.2ghz p er channel,my son has intel dual core and it can not compete

It depends what your doing....
I have a AMD personally because I game ALOT. Intel processors are probably the best in multitasking, if for instance you want to email, listen to music, burn a cd, etc all at the same time intel is the best for that.
But for gaming or digital video ediiting or where high intense CPU power is needed go AMD .

no doubt AMD have good speed but have ome drawbacks also it heat up very fast and its repair is very costly so i recomed that intel is better
