First time as a early teen I tried it because my dad smoked. I stopped.
Later I wanted to fit in with my friends who smoked and look "cool".

I started to smoke when I worked in a kitchen and noticed that the smokers got to take breaks but those that didn't smoke had to work all the time. I was already using another kind of tobacco so the step wasn't that big.

The smell of fresh tobacco. The men in my family smoked, my aunt smoked, and as a child they were my heroes. I wanted to do what they did. Fifty years later I'm still doing it. Now my spine surgeon tells me he'd rather I smoke than pack on weight from trying to stop. I get more pain relief from a cigarette than from any other method.

at a party friends would smoke pot, I didn't want to do that, SO i figured I'd have a cigarette, at least it was legal. I actually got a high from cigarettes when I first started, so I thought I was making the better choice than the pot head. Most of them probably gave up pot though, and I'm still stuck with the addiction.

I loved the smell of cigerettes when I was just a kid (6 years old), used to hang around my grandfather and inhale his second hand smoke or pick up his discarded cigerette butts (still burning) and inhale them when no one is looking.

Said to myself, when i get older, I wanna smoke, had my first at 14 yrs and never stopped till today.

Its the truth so am I crazy?

Just to be cool and grown-up! Thirty years later, we should all walk around with a lung ex-ray, to see who has the blackest lungs! Then we could all see who was really the coolest!
