People with money have money because they don't part with it. Older people especially those who grew up during the depression are usually quite thrifty always fearing that another depression could surface.

Some people run their businesses like that. They don't want to pay their employee's what they are worth or they don't want to give them an appropriate raise or a raise at all. Yet, they will spend thousands of dollars on their homes and go on vacations every 3 months or so. This is how a company that could have better production from their employee's fails. The average time an employee stays at a company like that is 2 years. The company I work at is like that. I truly enjoy everyone I work with, including the owners and they were very generous at first because they can see that I am a good employee that works hard and gets my work done, but there are people that have been there for a lot longer then me who sees people come and go because they don't get a raise or a sufficient one at that one year mark.

I am gaining experience in a field that I have never worked before, warehouse, and I plan on staying here until I have gained enough experience to look for a better paying job at another company. I am honestly hoping though, that when that does happen they try to meet the salary, because like I said I really enjoy the company and the work I am doing.

You have to at least be paid the minimum wage. That's a law. After that, it depends on the skills required for the job and if you have them. Then it depends on your job performance and sometimes length of employment if you'll receive any increases in wages.

Other than that, your employer is "stingy" probably so that his business can make money.'

You are paid for the work you produce, not how nice you think you are. Also you agreed to the conditions of employment, so what is your problem?

If you are paid below average, and are qualified for a better job go find another job.
