Question

I live with my roomate, and she turned out to be unbearable!
I used to buy food and essential things (telephone, broadband equipment, pans, pillows etc) for home everytime and never asked her to give me the half price for it. But I quit when lately she told me to "refund her 1(!) banana she gave me". Besides she has sex with different guys everyday in the next room. i tried to talk to her - didn't help. What can I do?! I can't move cause I paid deposit n I have to live with her half a year.

Your'e in a horrible position and I really feel for you bad roomates are hell. First buy only what you need for yourself, and pay her back her banana but when you do give her a detailed list of what she used and ate that you bought and put a price on it. Be tough and ask for it everyday. And be sure you give her the list with the damn banana she wants back. Then start saving every extra a penny you have so you can move, if you don't is sounds like she'll end up costing you more in the end. One other thing to try would be to sublet to someone you know you is more like her and wouldn't mind the boyfriend over every night. Get tough, don't allow yourself to be a push over and let her know that it's discusting to hear someon else having sex every night. Good luck

stop servicing her. unless you are in a relationship with her you do not owe her anything.
live for you - and make her fend for herself.
killing her might be a tad extreme - can you cover those utility bills all by yourself? And dumping a body on your own can be a big task, unless you have really good plumbing.

I'm currently living with an unbearable housemate. I own literally everything in the house except his groceries and his personal things, his clothes and computer and stuff. Keep in mind that that gives me the upper hand. When he doesn't do dishes I can say "if you don't clean them, don't use them", I can say "feet off the couch", "don't put that there", "put that back where it came from" etc.
Sure it can get carried away and release the inner dominatrix .. but hey, he's a loser jerk head so he asked for it.
Of course now I'm sullen. We don't talk unless absolutely necessary. I tried to lead by example and 'share' and 'talk' .. but he never returns on the 'share' principle. so i decided f* that.
I'm here for me.

I also put most big requests in email form .. passive aggressive I know. But it means I have a record of everything if he ever chucks a hissy and I need to sue his stupid lazy a*se.

You could put a toll on nightly visitors... Generally the landlord is not a fan of someone running a brothel in their house. If you *do* want her out, you could suggest that she's on drugs to the cops, never goes down well. and it's bitter and twisted.

ok when a person behaves like this they have a problem in their life. it is not a stable way to live so there is a problem behind this behaviour. i could indeed be wrong but at least you should consider it as a possibility.

So what you need to do is identify the problem which would at first be very hard. A possibility could be that someone dumped her and she is rebelling everything in life or something else I dont know her. Try to get to the root and try and solve the problem or help her. Then the behaviour will change. There is something called cause and effect, a cause has to result in behaviour. I do hope this will help and hope that something is causing this and is not her nature in general. if indeed it is her nature then you really have to get her to out or learn to tolerate. But i had some problems before with flat mates and there was always a deep seated reason behind it, like work pressures or relationship stress. hope this helps.

U are just like me...always buying stuff for friends..which they never give money back...AND they think that they 've done so much to deserve u as a friend!!!
U can call the police (and say that a neighbor did it...because she was making so much noise).
If u live in a campus rented apartment there are advisers which can help u sort out this problem...!If nothing of this works for you..file a law suit...through your lawyer...or in the worst case scenario KILL THE *****=0)

For a start you could change the password on the broadband and refuse to let her have it, and if the PC she's using is yours change administrator password so she can't even use that. Then charge her for it (£1 per hour is going rate in cyber cafes) say she can pay you, or pay them. As far as I'm aware, you can also put a code lock on the phone, but you'd have to speak to BT to get that done.

Give her the damn banana and explain to her exactly what you've done in the past. Next time she's in need of something of yours just tell her "I think it's best we don't share as you clearly have issue's with it"

Stop paying for everything. Don't make it so easy for her. Make it less comfortable for her to live there without trying to be too obvious about it. Eventually, she'll be the one to move out.
