after some time it turns out that only 98% of its weight is water . What is it's weight now??...options are:2.5 kg, 4.5 kg, 4.95 kg , or none of these..

The non-water weight didn't change. It was and is 1% of 5kg so 50 grams.
But before, 50 grams was 1% of weight, and after the drying room 50 grams are 2% of all weight.

so 50:2=x:100
so new weight is 2,5kg

It would be 4.95 kg coz first 99% was water n now its 98%
so 1%of 5000 is
5000 * 1 / 100 = 50gms so however wt will be reduced by that amt only

if it was my watermelon i would have eaten it not stuck it in a room to dry out as they taste like crap if dried
