I am sick of people telling me racist/sexist jokes or comments and when I tell them that I find it offensive they tell me that I am over-reacting. Why is it that some people insist on telling me their opinions but will not listen when I try to voice mine? Any tips on how to deal with rude people like this? Perhaps I am being too nice?

get mad at them after you have told them to stop.
let them know how you really feel.

They will not stop.
Some folks consider it funny and will do whatever they please.
If they tell racist jokes in the first place, do you really think they care about your feelings as well?

people like that are un educated and rude all you can do is try to educate them and move on.

you can not change people who don't want to be changed,but you can change the people you surround yourself with.people like these are ignorant.

maybe your just a prude and need to stay away from people in general. you apparently have no sense of humor.
