z You cannot "delete" your memory stick.
You can only remove it...(to upgrade)
Without your stick, your puter is only an expensive (and very heavy) paperweight.

Hmm, yet another poorly phrased question...

Let me take a guess, you want to delete all the files and folders that are on your memory stick, but when you try to you see an error message telling you that it's write protected?

If the above is correct, look for a small switch on the memory stick and move it from the position it's in now to the other position.

Your memory stick should now let you do the job.

If it still gives you an error message, find it in My Computer and right click it. Choose Format and follow the instructions.
If this doesn't work, you may need to use the software that was supplied with it on a disc.
If it didn't come with a disc, use a search engine to find the manufacturers web site and check for a formatting utility.

The other people think you are talking about internal memory - I assume you are talking about memory that plugs in to either USB or a media reader. the USB ones can't be write protected - so I assume it is something like an SD card. they have a tiny slider on the left side of the card you slide it forward to write protect and back to read/write (or is it the other way around?) I think the other types have a similar thing on - look for a slider on the edge and slide it the other way. Then you just select all and delete all. then put on whatever you want. I sent someone an SD card - they had the same problem - the slider is so tiny - it isn't obvious. She was also Chinese - didn't help! LOL

I presume u mean delete the contents - it may be that there is a very small switch on the side of the stick that protects the contents. If there is push it and retry - the alternative may be to re-format the stick!

i really, really hope u mean a USB memory stick and not the memory RAM inside the PC. From "My Computer" right-click on the icon of the stick and left-click on "Properties". Uncheck the "read-only" box.

ok if all the other answers do not work before you try to clear the Stick, make sure nothing from it is in use or open, if say a document is open it will stop you from deleting it from the stick
