Put a short jean shirt with your usual tops. If you aren't comfortable in heels, get boots. A short skirt is sexy and a softer look and easy to wear. Wear opaque tights if you are uncomfortable with the skirt length.
If you don't normally wear make up, just pick one thing, say a lipstick the color or your lips, or a gloss. Or eyeshadow in the color of your eyes or the color of your top.
Make small changes you are comfortable with. Good luck!

Style changes can be a lot of fun, ya know, a mixed up ward robe for what suits your mood. Go at it slow, tho, unless you can find it fun taking a radical change. Pick up some softer more fem tops and tees, ya know, simple shift with similar fabric. Check out more of the colored soft denims with a different more fem cut or slacks that feel like cacki's - again similar fabric so that you still are comfy. AND, check out shoes! Find some nice comfortable loafers or flats or maybe slight heal, the ones that appeal but are more towards fem. Make sure they're a comfortable fit! Pick up a button down sweater or two that are fem casual and work with your new tops. Add a simple pair of stud earrings, maybe a bracelet or necklace - doesn't have to be fancy. Mix in a nice pair of slacks, and you're good to go.
The key is to go with fabrics that you find comfortable and change the cut of the cloth to a little more fem. Over time, push the envelope a little further. There's lots of nice women's clothes that don't scream prissy fem, and dresses aren't necessary. Although you are thinking about a women you want, also think some about getting ahead at work. Whether it's fair or not, dress does affect how you are perceived, and income does affect what you can enjoy in your personal life.
Ha, I hate shopping and can't believe I just wrote this much on shopping tips. :) And, yeh, I love my jeans and tees, but do mix it up depending on mood and occasion.

Just be yourself. If she likes you she won't care if you look like a tomboy or a barbie doll. But if you really want to change not because of somebody but because you want to explore that side of you that's a different story. Jeans and T-shirts are OK but you can add a splash of color and make sure that your T-Shirts aren't 10 sizes bigger than you. A good perfume, earrings and a bit of lip gloss and eyeliner will work. Don't try to be another person because you won't be comfortable and that will show. Really just smile and be who you are and be proud about it. That is really better than any makeup.

I would slowly make the transformation, so that you feel comfortable with it yourself. Maybe, wear jeans and a more feminine top, walk around downtown and just take a look at some styles that are in where you live. Maybe some accessories to help play on that a bit too. Good luck

All i can say is to be your self. I too am a jeans and tee-shirt person. I thought the same thing not long ago and even tried to change my style some-but it wasn't me at all,and my g/f agreed that it wasn't me-so i went back to being me and i feel good. You can't change who you are for someone else-it has to come within and you want the change for yourself. If you do change for the wrong reasons you will be miserable, and you and your relationship may suffer.Just be yourself-Live and let live.

If you want a new look....everybody needs a make over occasionally...then go to a department store and have a pro do your makeup. Get your hair done by a pro who will give you a great style. Select a few clothes that flatter your build and give the look you want for an occasion...what is the problem here?

Go and get a haircut, splurge a bit by going to someone who is going to take the time to decide with you what look you want to achieve.
I would also say the "love yourself the way you are" thing but you seem to just want to try out a new look and I support that.
Whatever you do, get someone with a bit of knowledge to help you out.

Jewelery really does a lot to soften up a look, if you are going for the softer side, try feminine types of jewelery especially the color pink, since it is associated with that. Since you have short hair, try long or dangly earrings- they are pretty and people will be able to see them and remark on them.

Bless you, my darling, I've been a jeans and t-shirt kind of woman for most of my life! So's my Partner (and we've been together for 26 years). I might suggest going for something easy to wear...a soft flowy shirt (not too tight) and a pair of linen pants. If you have met your someone special then I hope they love you for who you are. May you both have a long and happy life. Blessings.

the regulars will tell you to be yourself and dont change. this is bs . You can try a differant clothing style and still be the same person. Look through magizines and sales adds to find someone with your build that you think is sexy , then you and you friend go model some outfits (you dont have to buy them ) When people you know compliment you on your looks you will have one of the best feelings you can ever have.
