I've got three weeks to get this together. I've thought of a scavenger hunt, but about half the kids will be younger and probably won't get that. I'm trying to think of things that go with the theme. Ideas? Thanks!

I never had to plan a Hot Wheels bday party but I have come up with a few suggestions while keeping in mind that age range. Games that would entertain my 4 yr old grandchild. Since you didn't say if price was an issue, I have tried to come up with easy/inexpensive ideas. I don't know if they will help or not. But here goes.

1. Pin the tire on the hot wheel. Like pin the tail on the donkey only with hot wheel car. Draw or have a family member/friend draw a hot wheel car on a piece of white construction paper. Color it in like on of them. Kinko's or Mail Boxes Plus have copiers that will enlarge picture. Take a picture in and have it enlarged. It will save time but don't know about cost. Tape it to a piece of card board. BUT leave off one of the tires. Then draw a tire comparable size. Have children try to pin it to car. Maybe use tape instead of pin.

2. Coloring the hot wheels car. Again draw a picture of a hot wheels car. Don't color it in. Have several pack of crayons. Have the children color it in.

3. Hot Wheels race. Have several hot wheels or have children bring one of his/her own. Take a piece of cardboard. Put it at a slight angle. Have children stand at high end of cardboard and let go so they will race down hill.

4. At stores like Card Factory outlet, they have pinatas shaped like cars. Fill with candy and trinkets. Have the children hit it. Might be dangerous with children that age though.

5. Musical chairs with a pictures of different hot wheels taped to each one.

6. This one you are going to go duh already thought of it. Get cake with hot wheels on it. Local grocery store should have cake decorating book with themes in it. I think I have seen a hot wheels or car racing theme one in it before.

7. Again at a store like Card Factory Outlet or party supply store should have hot wheels goodie bags. Fill one for each child with candy and trickets like pencils, chinese yo-yo's and little things like that. Chinese yo-yo's are fun but can get a little crazy when kids flick them at each other.

8. Hot wheels ballons again from a party supply store.

9. Party supply store should have hot wheels plates, cups and center pieces. May get expensive if lots of children.

Again I don't know if any of these ideas help but I tried. Good Luck and don't let planning the party or the day of stress you out too much. Just remember you have done your best on short notice.

okay, tweak the pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey game, and call it pit stop, and use a race car poster and 4 wheels instead of the donkey and tails. time them and let them try to get all 4 wheels stuck on in the least amount of time. you can buy magnetic adhesive sheets and put the game on your refrigerator if you like. prizes could be matchbox cars-pick cool colors! and give everyone a prize.

you can also tweak the musical chairs game into a racetrack game and use race car sounds instead of music.

i'm also turning 15, so, maybe you and your friends can play Uno or play sports outside like volleyball or badminton.
