A lot of the shower-gels are extremely drying on the skin. They are very harsh and not pH neutral. Try Sanex or Dove shower gels. Don't use soap if you can avoid it unless it is a moisturising-cream pH neutral type soap.

You can also get Oilatum from a pharmacy which is added to your bathwater, and you can have a soak in a moisturising solution for the skin. Be careful though, it can make the bath a bit slippery, don't have lovely smooth skin and a broken-neck because you've slipped in the bath.

Also, I'd have to go with the previous respondent who suggested exfoliation techniques and creams, such as Vaseline Intensive Care.

I have tattoos and I want them to remain colourful and flexible. If my skin gets dry they look faded and unpleasant. The above methods work for me.

Try an exfoliate. St Ives has a great scrub. You can also get is in just about any store. They also have make it yourself guides on line and in teen magazines. Try this and a really good moisturizer. If it is an allergic reaction try the benadryl cream. Works wonders.

vaseline and coacoa butter works for me look out for moisturisers with vitamin E but everyone is different e.g lotions containing aloe vera make my skin feel dry but for most others it works well. there may be a possibility you have a skin condition or maybe you are not getting enough of you essential vitamins. usually what you eat or drink can have great effect.

I have the same problem. We went to a spa, where i had a facial, and a body wrap. basically it was a vitamin therapy and my skin still feels soft and supple. I use demoligicia, as it gives me a wonderful result. you can buy them at any department store. but first have a facial, and body wrap, to let the therapist diagnose to type of skin you may have. good luck..

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula is fantastic you can buy it from .. boots, superdrug, wilkinsons or anyleading pharmacy its about £3. It has a strong chocolate/coconut smell so might be best using it before bed rather than in the morning.

Any sort of moisturiser is good but bear in mind it could be one of your current products causing it. look out for any connections to what you use and rough skin developing.

Try using baby oil in the bath/shower and then moisturise afterwards.
