My somewhat forgetful friend owed me £50. Even when i came out and asked for it he denied it. I broke into his house while he was out at the pub, cleared out his household belongings, defecated in his toilet cistern, urinated in his milk and set his car on fire. At a bootsale the next week the goods sold for £250, and even with me lending him another £50 to help him through his unlucky break I,m £150 up, but I feel bad as I think I should only have given him £20

Sometimes you just gotta be a little bit generous, you shouldn't beat yourself up for being so kind and giving him a little extra, especially since he needed it. The world needs more people like you good sir

I am surprised that you ask. Our life lessons are many.. let this be yours regarding lending money. Lending money to friends and family sets you up for problems....
Anyone who goes to the lengths you did has a serious problem with frustration and anger.
I don't know how you were brought up , but I find it scary that this would be a normal and healthy reaction... Maybe I am behind the times, but I think you should have gone into a boxing ring with a trainer and tried to get rid of your frustration that way.... What you did is criminal and to lend him more money because he had a bad break...... You did this to ease your conscience..... Shame on you..... Go do some volunteer work and help society.......

I hope you are joking Jo, I didn't know whether to feel shocked by the details you describe or laugh. If it a joke then you have quite a written wit mate! If not then you have taken your revenge to far and your feeling guilty for a good reason. Only lend friends money with a receipt and a pay back plan, if they don't like this tell them to go to the bank. A real friend would not mind you doing so.

Wait a minute - you feel the only think you did wrong was lend money too much money??? Breaking and entering is against the law, #1 and #2 destroying property is also against the law. What's wrong is the guy actually wanted to borrow more money from you after all of this! You both deserve one another.

Well I personally think you did wrong. I am an girl, but I have the philosophy that one should always be "bigger" than the other party.

I don't disagree that you should have continued a debate with him regarding his debt to you, but your actions were also.... although made a strong point of your emotions...were childish and beneath your real nature. (Or else you wouldn't have asked this question) In fact, you didn't need to ask, you already know that you were wrong.

Oh well, whats done is done.

And this was your "friend"?
Best advise...don't loan money to friends.

Well, why exactly do you feel bad? Is it the fact that you trashed his place or you loaned him money again knowing he isn't going to pay you back. I can't say what I would have done, it would probably have been the same thing though (except for lending him money again.)

What kind of a friend are you if you lent him more money again! That will never teach him to not mess with people and their cash!

You did do wrong. you left him more money after he never gave you back the money he owed you..

If he had a hamster you should have killed it also! These people have to be taught!

LMAO! too funny though!

YOUR just sick and wrong i just hope one day you will fall short of your goals in life and will need to turn to your friend for help and then what are you going to do when you think back to what you did to him. money is not every thing. I would rather have a good friend than someone who always asked for his money back.
