The universe mean uni one verse very big area or everything, is it a paradox when you say mirror universe, or layered universe, any extention you add to the universe is part of the very universe you are talking about.
Ok you have multiple dimensions, multiple time advances and time lags across multiple layered universes, but at the end of the day when you talk about the universe you are talking about ONE thing that has infintite dimensions, not infinite universes having one dimension.

doug_dona...comprehending and explaining phenomina is what science is all about, yes language is a barrier, as is how your minds eye percieves reality.

True. There is only one Universe. But we only get to see a *very* small part of it. And that small part has come to be known (through common usage) as 'the' Universe.

Just one more reason (as if any are needed) that language is worthless when you try to comprehend reality.

Mathematics is the 'only' system which is capable of conveying the concepts of reality.

if I understand correctly the theory of multiple dimension it allows for the existence of multiple universes, each one making use of several of these dimensions.
as far ad I know this theory has not been tested.

This is way above my head but if you have a multiverse, parallel universes etc., then our own universe has to be finite - doesn't it?
