I have a holland lop and a cat. I work and I know my cat does not need a lot of my time, but does my bunny?

Some bunnies love to have affection and attention, while others don't. I would let your bunny out of its cage while you're home (but because you have the cat, you would have to supervise them extra). My bunny gets at least 6 hours a day out of his cage, but you don't have to give yours the same amount of time... I know, it's a lot. Anyhow, if you do let him out of his cage, make sure that he has plenty of things to chew on/keep him busy. Pay attention to him when he wants you to. If he comes out, and pulls at your pants leg, or follows you around, then feel free to lavish him with attention. Don't go looking for him when he's under the bed, or doing something else "involving" for a bunny. It could scare him, or annoy him, and, soon enough, he will try to avoid any attention. The best thing would be to let him come to you.

Yes, rabbits are not like cats and enjoy a lot of contact. I use to have a Holland and a French Lop. The French would knock the little Holland out of the way when she wanted me to pet her or pay more attention to her. Both would follow me around the house just like a dog would do. Give her/him as much cuddle time as you can.

Yes, your bunny wants and needs time with you. Our bunnies love to spend time with us and you'll love it too. Your bunny needs at least 3-4 hours/day of running around time if caged when you are not at home. When you let your bunny out to play is the perfect time to spend with him or her. Get on the floor and get to know your bunny. You can also read and watch tv or work on the computer. The good news is that rabbits are crepuscular which means they sleep during the day and night so won't miss you when you're at work. They are most active at dawn and twilight (I don't sleep late anymore!)

Even with a perfectly bunny proofed house, you need to be there to supervise and to be sure the cat doesn't hurt the bunny. Cats are predators and rabbits are prey animals. some cats and rabbits get along, but you want to be careful.

Here is a wonderful article about what to expect with your first bunny:

Just enough to show you care. Remember bunnies are not usually domesticated animals. They are not awaiting your attention like a dog.
Clean cage, food , water , some play toys in the cage and a little time here and there should suffice.

bunny does not need a lot of time either, just check on him a few times a day and play a little bit with him
