Several years ago I bought a product in the form of a something like a bar of soap to be used to remove soap scum from a ceramic tile stall shower. I can't recall the name OR where I purchased it. It worked really well! Is anyone familiar with this product and its name? All I could find online was a spray product called "Kaboom" and misc. "recipes" for soap-scum removing solutions.

I found a chemical called "Powerhouse Shooters" to be fantastic. It is good for all types of showers and sink surfaces. CAUTION: Do not use on brass fixtures. It will stirp the brass off. Stainless steal fixtures are fine if they don't have painted labels for hot and cold. Must use gloves & follow directions. It takes off soap scum and rust from laminate showers, and procelin surfaces, and glass shower doors like water. It smells great too. If the stains and soap scum are built up over 5-10 years you may need to use several applications, a soft nylon scrubby and rinsing with water after each application.. Work into the surface. Do not let it stand for more than 3-6 minutes as it will streak surfaces or etch. the glass. You need to stay with it, keep working the surfaces, then rinse clean with water. Use a large cup to rinse walls if you don't have a loose gooseneck shower handle. It comes in gallon sizes and smaller. Can buy it at "A -1 Janitorial" store in the shopping center on the north west corner on Greenback near San Juan. Good luck!

Believe it or not the best thing for cleaning soap scum is soap. Fels Naptha, (a large bar soap), is great! This may be exactly what you used in the past. You can still buy Fels Naptha in most grocery store chains. I use it all the time it's good for many things, including stains and poison ivy remedy! It's a very old product, that's why it works!

No, I am not familiar with the "bar" of soap concept. Have you tried oxy clean? I dilute Clorox and water and just spray it. Works well for me. Make sure to open some windows and keep the place ventilated OK?
